Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist – Housing Infrastructure Products (Toronto, ON)
Westlake is seeking a high-impact Regional Recruiter to support our Canadian operations from our Woodbridge, Ontario location. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end recruitment for both professional/salaried roles and hourly/skilled trades positions across multiple plants.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands‑on recruiter who thrives in a fast‑paced industrial environment and can balance high-volume hiring with strategic talent initiatives
. This includes leading hiring events, developing community partnerships, and building long‑term talent pipelines for niche and hard‑to‑fill roles.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred
, but not required.
- Partner closely with HR and hiring managers to manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job definition, sourcing, interviewing, selection, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
- Lead recruiting efforts for a diverse portfolio of roles spanning operations, skilled trades, engineering, supply chain, and plant leadership.
- Develop and execute regional recruitment strategies that support both immediate staffing needs and long‑term workforce planning.
- Drive proactive sourcing through social media, direct outreach, community partnerships, employee referrals, and creative recruitment marketing.
- Build and maintain strong pipelines for critical skill areas, staying current on market trends, competitor talent, and regional labor dynamics.
- Champion a positive candidate experience at every stage of the hiring process.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate hiring events, career fairs, campus recruiting, and networking activities.
- Establish and nurture relationships with local colleges, skilled trade programs, community organizations, and industry associations.
- Ensure ATS data accuracy, reporting integrity, and adherence to recruitment KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve recruiting processes across the region.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and plant leadership to enhance onboarding and workforce planning.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives by expanding outreach programs and promoting equitable hiring practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of recruiting experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated success managing both professional-level recruitment and high-volume skilled/hourly hiring.
- Experience organizing and facilitating hiring events, job fairs, and community networking.
- Strong sourcing expertise across multiple channels (direct sourcing, social platforms, CRM, recruitment marketing tools).
- Proficiency with ATS and CRM systems; strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Hybrid schedule:
Primarily office-based in Woodbridge (3 days onsite / 2 days remote). - Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments requiring PPE (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
- Travel across Canada may be required to support plant hiring needs and recruitment initiatives.
