The Senior Human Capital Manager plans and manages human resource activities for Canadian offices in Toronto, Montreal, and Mississauga, and for remote colleagues. The role provides frontline HR support to employees and management and regional support to the HC Operations team. It advises leadership on solutions to address business needs and assists initiatives to build and maintain a strong office community in an inclusive and positive environment.

Activities include program administration, policy and procedure development and implementation, payroll and benefits oversight, orientation, employee system transactions, employee engagement, and employee relations. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in our Toronto office; no full remote option.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and answer questions on policy interpretation.
  • Ensure uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures.
  • Administer Talent Management programs, such as leaves, in‑country transfers, and work schedules; generate, process, and distribute appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure new hires have first day logistics and required paperwork, including work documentation.
  • Organize and conduct Day 1 orientation.
  • Coordinate onboarding requirements with departments and deliver presentations.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues (expenses, IT).
  • Provide assistance to resolve payroll and benefit issues.
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage logistics for departures.
  • Partner with office leadership to build strong community across all locations.
  • Support firm‑wide efforts to maintain a highly engaged workforce.
  • Develop and support programs designed to strengthen engagement.
  • Serve as a role model to all employees, exemplifying Oliver Wyman values.
  • Create a fair and inclusive environment based on trust and mutual respect.
  • Build credibility through open dialogue and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and leaders regarding employment law, policy, and employee issues.
  • Anticipate workplace issues and solve before escalation.
  • Support employee investigations and enforce disciplinary procedures.
  • Handle involuntary termination matters professionally and empathetically.
  • Work with external and internal counsel on severance calculations.
  • Collaborate with MMC on compliance, audits, and transformation initiatives.
  • Manage required documentation per legal and company requirements.
  • Enter employee transactions and draft related documents for various changes.
  • Write and distribute employee communications as required.
  • Other duties as assigned, including projects related to the business or Regional HC Operations team.
Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of human resources experience (preferably professional services).
  • 4+ years of leadership experience – leading projects or teams, facilitating discussions, coaching, mentoring junior HR colleagues, and advocating for policy initiatives.
  • HR Certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in French required.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of trends and changes in Human Resources legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Workday is a plus.
  • Mergers and acquisitions experience preferred.
  • Current knowledge of employment law and practices.
