This opportunity is posted to support the recruitment of an existing vacant position.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for SHN’s Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, including Workday, UKG, Parklane, Vocantas, and other workforce technologies.
- Oversight of administration, configuration, optimization, implementation, and continuous enhancement of HR systems supporting the full employee lifecycle (workforce management, talent acquisition, and scheduling).
- Lead a team of HR Systems and Workforce Analytics professionals; collaborate with Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, IT, operational leaders, and external vendors to advance SHN’s People Strategy.
- Ensure effective and efficient use of financial, human, and material resources; drive operational excellence through data governance, process optimization, system adoption, and workforce insights.
- Provide operational leadership for system implementations, configurations, testing, deployments, upgrades, releases, and ongoing maintenance across platforms (Workday, UKG, and related technologies).
- Lead requirements gathering, workflow design, configuration, testing, issue resolution, change management, and end-user training/adoption for system implementations and optimizations.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and stakeholders to enhance processes, governance, reporting capabilities, and efficiency.
- Ensure configurations comply with legislative requirements, collective agreements, policies, and arbitration outcomes where applicable.
- Oversee workforce analytics and reporting; define metrics and deliver dashboards, reports, and insights for workforce planning and data-driven decisions.
- Develop communication materials (briefing notes, dashboards, presentations, executive reports) for leaders at all levels.
- Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners to support implementations, upgrades, integrations, and issue resolution.
- Establish and maintain data quality, governance, audit, and security practices for workforce data.
- Identify opportunities for process redesign, automation, and system integration to improve the employee and manager experience.
- Monitor HR technology trends and benchmarking; provide recommendations for continuous improvement and modernization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Health Administration, or related field. Graduate degree, CHRL designation, or relevant certification considered an asset.
- Workday and/or UKG certification(s) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in HR systems, HRIS, or HR technology, including administration, implementation, and configuration in enterprise HCM environments.
- Hands-on experience with Workday and/or UKG implementation, configuration, optimization, or support required.
- Experience supporting or leading enterprise system implementations, upgrades, releases, integrations, testing, and business process redesign.
- Strong understanding of core HR processes (recruitment, onboarding, workforce management, scheduling, compensation, benefits, payroll interfaces, organizational structures, employee lifecycle transactions).
- Experience in HR operations, workforce analytics, and/or HR technology within a unionized environment; healthcare or hospital experience considered an asset.
- Knowledge of collective agreements and their application within a hospital setting preferred.
