About the Opportunity
- Process and oversee payroll operations for employees across multiple Canadian provinces, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and legislative compliance.
- Manage employee payroll and benefits changes, including hires, leaves, transfers, salary updates, and terminations.
- Coordinate employee leave administration and return‑to‑work processes in collaboration with HR and external providers.
- Prepare statutory filings, year‑end reporting, reconciliations, and payroll‑related financial reports.
- Support payroll compliance activities, including remittances, audits, and government reporting requirements.
- Act as a resource for employee and management payroll and benefits inquiries, resolving complex issues as needed.
- Maintain and improve payroll procedures, documentation, and reporting processes while supporting system upgrades and HR/finance initiatives.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to payroll team members while supporting continuous process improvements.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or equivalent payroll designation required.
- Bilingual in English and French, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, or payroll operations.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience leading or supporting payroll team members.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, employment standards, and statutory remittance requirements.
- Experience working with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and payroll reporting processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Experience supporting audits, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives is considered an asset.
- Must reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada.
$93,000 - $103,000 per year
