Position: HR Assistant - Operations (Co-op)

Job Description

At S&C Electric Canada, Co‑Op students contribute to building a safer, more reliable, and more resilient electrical grid. The role provides meaningful projects and hands‑on experience in a dynamic, safety‑focused environment.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Work Term

4 Months (Sept. 2026 – Dec. 2026) or 8 Months (Sept. 2026 – Apr. 2027)

Compensation

Hourly pay range $21.80 – $27.00, determined by study year, program, and prior co‑op terms.

Position

HR Operations Assistant – Co‑Op

Key Responsibilities
  • Update HRIS, Learning Management System, and Absence Tracking System
  • Assist in coordinating service awards and other HR programs
  • Answer employee inquiries about HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Promote employee engagement by supporting S&C events
  • Perform HR administrative duties
  • Provide support for other HR projects
What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • Post‑secondary student enrolled in Human Resources Management program or a similar field
  • Eligible for a 4 or 8‑month co‑op term starting in Fall 2026
  • Excellent interpersonal, time‑management, and customer‑service skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Physical Effort

Normal or frequent minor physical effort (standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 20 lbs).

Work Environment

Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging conditions.
