The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Human Resources, Payroll & Benefits Manager is a key member of our Corporate HR team. This is a true generalist leadership role with primary responsibility for payroll, while also leading benefits administration, recruitment, HRIS administration, employee and labour relations, and a wide range of HR initiatives.
Supporting approximately 315 employees across multiple retirement communities, this role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Working within a small, collaborative HR team, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across all areas of the employee lifecycle while helping shape the future of our growing organization.

There is an expectation of being in office each Tuesday at our downtown Toronto office.
What You’ll Do
· Lead the administration of payroll for salaried, hourly, unionized, and non-union employees with a goal of transitioning to the management of end-to-end payroll by end of year.
· Administer employee benefits, Group RRSP, leaves of absence, disability programs, and employee wellness initiatives.
· Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and talent acquisition activities across the organization.
· Support the implementation, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's HRIS and payroll systems.
· Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on employee relations, performance management, attendance management, workplace investigations, accommodations, and progressive discipline.
· Interpret and administer collective agreements while supporting grievance and labour relations processes.
· Prepare employment documentation including offers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves, and terminations.
· Maintain accurate employee records while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, payroll legislation, privacy requirements, and company policies.
· Generate HR, payroll, and workforce reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
· Participate in HR projects, policy development, employee engagement initiatives, organizational planning, and continuous improvement activities.
