Job Summary

The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist leads full-cycle recruitment across multiple portfolios, including plant operations, corporate, and management roles. This role develops and executes targeted hiring strategies, partners with Hiring Managers, and drives the delivery of high-quality talent while strengthening pipelines and enhancing the overall recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full-Cycle Recruitment & Strategy Execution
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies for assigned portfolios and searches, including sourcing approaches, selection criteria, tools, and processes
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities across salaried, corporate, plant, and management roles to ensure timely, high-quality hires within budget
  • Partner with Hiring Managers to understand talent needs and provide guidance throughout the hiring process
  • Conduct interviews, coordinate background checks, prepare offers, and lead offer negotiations
  • Manage communication between candidates, Hiring Managers, and HR to ensure a smooth onboarding transition
  • Leverage recruitment tools (e.g., Linked In, ATS) to build and maintain strong talent pipelines
  • Mentor peers and support the development of team members to achieve recruitment goals
  • Recruitment Governance & Best Practices
  • Ensure recruitment and selection processes align with professional standards and provincial legislation
  • Evaluate and refine hiring practices, criteria, and procedures to drive consistency and effectiveness
  • Provide training and support to Hiring Managers and HR partners on recruitment processes and best practices
  • Maintain ongoing understanding of workforce needs through stakeholder engagement
  • Talent Pipeline & Employer Branding
  • Support the development and expansion of pipeline programs, including campus, community, and industry partnerships
  • Build networks through career fairs, events, and professional associations
  • Contribute to employer branding initiatives across digital and social channels
  • Help position the organization as an employer of choice to attract diverse, high-quality talent
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain recruitment data, including vacancy tracking, ATS updates, and pipeline activity
  • Generate reports and dashboards to monitor recruitment performance and identify trends
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, tools, and candidate experience
  • Coaching & Team Support
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to peers and/or junior team members
  • Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the Talent Acquisition team
  • Participate in regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and align on priorities
The Recipe for Success
  • Completion of college diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Previous 5+ years experience working within a Human Resources department
  • Preferred Completion of university degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Preferred previous experience working within a Human Resources department within the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Familiar with applicable employment legislation
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and project management skills
  • Must be able to meet project deadlines, with good sense of urgency and follow through
  • Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision
