Our People Experience department is passionate about improving employee experience and is dedicated to delivering end-to-end support to our global workforce! They provide employees with a stellar HR experience and offer solutions for business needs. As an Employee Relations Partner, you will provide mentorship, support and recommendations for the resolution of critical and complex employee relations matters. You will provide consultation and mentor Americas-based staff members and supervisors.

This includes complex performance management, compliance and investigations, conflict resolution, benefit policy, labor law legislation, and sensitive exit and termination management. The Employee Relations Specialist will have proven experience closely collaborating with other People Partners such as People Business Partners (PBPs), eBay Employment Counsel, People & Organizational Development Partners and other COEs.

What you will accomplish:

  • Provide mentorship and advice to managers on performance management and remedial measures relevant to the location jurisdiction. Help them implement corrective action processes consistently across business entities.

  • Deliver employee relations related presentations and training content

  • Respond and resolve HR-related inquiries from employees, managers, Centers of Excellence (e.g. Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, and Learning & Organization Development, Payroll) and Vendors via email, and chat, meeting agreed Service Level Agreements and applying a Case Management System to record case notes

  • Approve and facilitate HR transactions as required by automated workflows and processes HR transactions for employees and managers when the primary self-service channel cannot be used

  • Help new hires prepare to onboard from the moment they receive their verbal offer all the way to their first day

  • Conduct internal investigations and advise on employee complaints and grievances (e.g., discrimination, harassment, retaliation) recommend solutions, conduct root cause analysis, and assist with facilitation of remediation activities and corrective action

  • Provide jurisdictionally appropriate legal advice and interpretation on employment legislation, and handle most aspects of involuntary employee terminations in conjunction with the business

  • In close partnership with People Business Partners, support managers and employees through departmental restructuring activities

  • Support complicated leave of absence and accommodation situations by offering a high touch and consistent approach to employees and leaders

  • Participate in broad range of projects across the People Experience team as well as recommend process improvement and policy development

  • What you will bring:

  • Demonstrated solid knowledge and understanding of employment legislation. This includes how it is interpreted and applied. Also covers employment practices related to performance management, FMLA, Canada Labour Code, ADA, Accessible Canada Act (ACA), FLSA, and ERISA.
