Global Associate Director, Employee Relations

Elevate your leadership career at OMERS as the Associate Director of Employee Relations. This strategic role requires expertise in managing complex ER and LR matters across global jurisdictions.
Reporting directly to the Director of Employee & Labour Relations, you will oversee and execute high-risk employee and labour relations initiatives. Your responsibilities include providing senior-level ER advice, leading sensitive investigations, and managing complex labour relations scenarios. Collaborate with HR, Legal, and business leaders to ensure legally compliant outcomes while enhancing workplace culture across OMERS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and coaching to ER/LR team members

• Act as the Director’s delegate on key ER/LR issues

• Lead high-risk workplace investigations with senior stakeholders

• Manage complex labour relations including arbitrations and negotiations

• Design proactive ER strategies using insights and data analysis
Requirements:

• 8+ years in employee/labour relations or legal roles

• Experience in complex investigations and stakeholder advisement

• Strong leadership and judgment in high-risk situations

• Ability to translate data trends into proactive solutions

• University degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
