We’re seeking an HR Manager to join the People & Culture team at Points Bet Canada on a 12-month contract, with strong potential to convert to a permanent, full-time role. This position is focused on day-to-day people operations supporting the employee lifecycle, resolving day-to-day HR queries, and keeping core people processes running smoothly while also partnering closely with our global People & Culture colleagues across Canada, Australia, and Japan to help deliver on broader organizational priorities.

You’ll work closely with cross-regional stakeholders to ensure a consistent, high-quality employee experience.

WHAT

YOU WILL OWN Key Highlights of This Role
  • Lead the implementation of our new HRIS system, Employment Hero, for Points Bet Canada from setup and data migration through to rollout and employee adoption.
  • Assist in getting our new office space set up, supporting logistics and coordination as part of the broader move.
  • Play a key role in building out the Alberta team, supporting hiring, onboarding, and early team formation as Points Bet launches in the Alberta market.
Daily People Operations
  • Act as a first point of contact for employees on day-to-day HR queries from onboarding and benefits to policy interpretation and general people matters.
  • Support the end-to-end employee lifecycle onboarding, probation check-ins, internal moves, and offboarding ensuring a consistent and positive experience at every stage.
  • Prepare and maintain HR documentation, including offer letters, contracts, and role-change letters, in line with Ontario and Alberta employment standards.
  • Track and report on key people metrics (e.g., turnover, time-to-hire, headcount) to support data-informed decision-making.
  • Partner with People & Culture colleagues across Canada and Australia and Japan to align on shared frameworks, policies, and ways of working.
  • Join and contribute to cross-regional working sessions, sharing local context and surfacing risks or opportunities specific to the Canadian and Alberta market.
Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Support the resolution of day-to-day employee relations matters, escalating complex cases appropriately.
  • Help ensure HR practices align with Ontario and Alberta employment legislation (ESA, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA) and internal policy.
  • Assist with maintaining job descriptions, organizational structure documentation, and related governance materials (e.g., compliance).
