HR Coordinator

Our client is a highly respected law firm looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join their team and play a hands‑on role in supporting employees throughout the full employment lifecycle. From recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration, employee support, HRIS management, performance reviews, and payroll coordination, you’ll be involved in a wide range of HR functions and work closely with both employees and the HR Director.

Salary:
Up to $70K (Based on Experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the employee benefits program, including enrolling new employees, processing changes throughout the employment lifecycle, and reconciling benefits billing.
  • Coordinate vacation and absenteeism coverage for support staff.
  • Create job postings and manage and track recruitment data, providing regular updates to the HR Manager.
  • Utilize the applicant tracking system to schedule and participate in interviews, provide candidate recommendations, and follow up with candidates.
  • Onboard and orient new employees to support a smooth integration into the firm.
  • Assist the HR Manager with employee relations matters and general employee issues.
  • Manage the general HR inbox and serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries.
  • Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of HR policies.
  • Administer and maintain the firm’s HRIS, including entering new employee information, processing terminations, and updating salary changes for payroll.
  • Support the performance management process by electronically distributing and retrieving performance reviews and coordinating review meetings with employees and the HR Manager.
  • Work closely with the Payroll Clerk to provide timely information regarding payroll changes.
  • Complete general HR administrative tasks and provide ongoing administrative support to the HR team.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Post-graduate studies in Human Resources.
  • CHRL designation (or in progress).
  • 3+ years of HR related experience, preferably in legal or professional services
  • Advanced skills in MS Office and Adobe Pro is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of ADP (an asset).
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
