As a Labour Relations Staff Officer at the Society of United Professionals, you will guide members on impactful labour relations matters. This full-time role involves arbitration, relationship-building, and member engagement.
The Society of United Professionals seeks two experienced Labour Relations Staff Officers. You will advise local representatives, manage initiatives to enhance union strength, and prepare cases for arbitration. This role demands expertise in collective bargaining, grievance handling, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert labour relations advice to members and representatives
• Develop relationships with employers in collaboration with local officers
• Organize and support Society campaigns internally and externally
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor preferred
• Five years of relevant labour relations experience
• Knowledge of federal or provincial pay equity issues is a plus
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters
