The
ISE team
works to ensure Canadian Blood Services is a leader in inclusion, sustainability and engagement, best positioning us to be prepared for the ever changing present and future. It stewards natural intersections between our social impact and our purpose — identifying and removing barriers to inclusion and belonging within Canada’s Lifeline.

In this role, you will help turn diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities into meaningful action across the organization. Working closely with leaders and partners from different areas of the business, you will lead strategic initiatives from planning through implementation, helping to remove systemic barriers, strengthen inclusive practices, and deliver measurable outcomes. This role is well suited to someone who combines strategic thinking with strong execution skills and enjoys influencing change through collaboration.

  • Using your ability to lead complex initiatives, you will translate organizational commitments into practical plans, deliverables, and outcomes that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities.
  • Drawing on your strategic thinking and judgement, you will identify emerging opportunities, risks, and gaps, helping leaders make informed decisions and proactively address challenges.
  • Through strong project and change management skills, you will guide large-scale, multi-phase initiatives from concept to implementation, ensuring progress remains aligned to organizational goals.
  • By building relationships and influencing across teams, you will create alignment among diverse perspectives and help move shared priorities forward, even without formal authority.
  • Leveraging data, insights, and performance measures, you will evaluate results, identify opportunities for improvement, and strengthen the long-term impact of initiatives.
  • Using your facilitation and collaboration skills, you will lead cross-functional working groups and committees that support inclusive practices and sustainable organizational change.
Desired education and skills
  • A university degree in social sciences, public administration, human resources management, business, organizational development or related field.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite with in-depth knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online collaboration tools (yammer, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead and deliver complex initiatives from strategy through execution and implementation.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), or Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP) designation, is an asset.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with change management, project management, organizational, problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to translate vision into execution.
