The Impact You Will Make

Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Culture, the People & Culture Administrator will be responsible for delivering day-to-day HR support across a wide range of people processes, systems, and programs. This role contributes to the organization’s mission by ensuring the effective administration of key HR functions, including onboarding, compensation and benefits, performance management, and employee relations. The P&C Administrator works collaboratively across teams to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Include (but Are Not Limited To)
  • Administer and troubleshoot People & Culture systems and tools, including payroll, benefits, performance management, and internal communication platforms.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in the HR system by processing changes such as new hires, terminations, compensation adjustments, and status updates.
  • Coordinate recruitment administration, including job postings and applicant tracking, and support hiring managers throughout the process.
  • Ensure employees understand how to use ADP Workforce Now effectively, and keep HR resources and system content accurate and up to date.
  • Manage payroll input and process all benefit and pension changes; act as the main point of contact for employees and benefit providers.
  • Monitor leave-related payments (e.g., WSIB, STD, LTD) to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Respond to general employee inquiries and provide timely follow-up; elevate complex issues and recommend process or communication improvements based on inquiry trends.
  • Manage the student and internship program, including school partnerships and job fair participation to build future talent pipelines.
  • Coordinate onboarding for all new hires, ensuring compliance and a consistent, positive employee experience.
  • Recommend improvements to onboarding and culture integration practices, and maintain updated onboarding files and templates.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure all documentation is accurate, current, and properly stored in the HR document management system.
  • Assist in implementing HR policies and standard operating procedures, tracking compliance and recommending updates as needed.
  • Support the annual performance management cycle, respond to basic inquiries, and track review completion rates.
  • Produce regular people metrics reports, conduct data audits, and ensure data integrity and compliance across HR systems.
  • Leads the Feel Good Task Force.
Qualifications Include (but Are Not Limited To)
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience. Experience in International Development, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO/INGO), or other not-for-profit sectors is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant legislation including Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, AODA, Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Code.
  • Proven experience in interpreting employment law and handling HR/LR compliance matters.
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills for diverse audiences to build strong working relationships across cultural and organizational settings, both internally and externally. French/Spanish/Arabic language skills is an asset.
  • Demonstrated project management experience for task execution of assigned objectives supported by proficiency with MS Office tools and relevant technologies. Ability to work under pressure within tight timelines to achieve SCC objectives.
