Associate Criminal Lawyer

We are looking to hire an Associate Criminal Lawyer to join our team. We are looking for a go-getter, with a strong interest in criminal defence, a solid grasp of criminal law, relevant experience in the field, a strong desire to win, strong advocacy skills, and an appreciation for customer service.

Your job will involve assisting clients with police investigations, conducting bail hearings, interviewing witnesses, drafting pre-trial applications and Charter applications, conducting Crown Pre-Trials and Judicial Pre-Trials, scheduling trials, arguing pre-trial applications, conducting Trials, Sentencing Hearings, and the odd Appeal. You will work on files involving charges of theft, assault, impaired driving/over 80, harassment, mischief, sexual offences, break and enter and more.

There are minimum qualifications for this job. You must be licensed as a Lawyer by the Law Society of Ontario, insured by LAWPRO and ready to start working. We are looking for someone with at least 1 year of criminal defence experience, ideally more. Truly exceptional applicants without criminal defence experience will be considered. You will need a vehicle. The job is in person at our office in Richmond Hill.
