** Our Toronto office is seeking an experienced US Immigration Lawyer with excellent communication skills who, effectively collaborates and supports their clients in a constantly changing landscape of Canadian business immigration. * Develop an expert-level understanding of your client base and the industries you support as well as the firm’s practice areas and services provided.
* Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status.
* Work with client global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies for non-immigrant and immigrant foreign national employees.
* Draft and prepare letters and legal documents, typically based on established precedents.
* Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
* Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation.
* Demonstrate a willingness to learn and effectively implement guidance and direction offered by supervisors and experienced colleagues.
* Proactively communicate with clients, within SLAs/team protocols and with a precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized response.
* Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects.
* Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
* Use firm technology accurately and in line with team and client protocols, ensuring accurate and complete data is entered.
* Actively contribute to team meetings and firmwide activities.
* Act as a source of advice and training to more junior colleagues, proactively sharing immigration knowledge and expertise.
* Ensure self and team follow documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational and client compliance.
* Other duties as required.
** Leverage your valuable skills and experience to make an impact at Fragomen:
*** Canadian bar lawyer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and knowledge of US immigration law
* Proven ability to build strong working relationships with clients and staff
* Responsible for managing a broad caseload in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to identify issues, analyze facts and determine appropriate case strategy.
* Effectively utilize on-line research tools and comfortable working with client management systems.
* Displays professionalism, quality service and a “positive” can do attitude and contribute to the Firm's overall initiatives.
We are working in a hybrid model of 2 days at the office and 3 days from home.
