Legal Assistant - Business Law

About the Company
Our client, a large national firm is in search of a Business Law Legal Assistant to join their growing Franchising group in downtown Toronto.

About the Role
In this role, the Legal Assistant will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day practice of a Senior Partner along with administrative support to a secondary lawyer. You will:

• Open and close files, arrange meetings, arrange travel and accommodations;
• Manage calendars and keep the Lawyer apprised on deadlines using a tickler system;
• Enter dockets, prepare trust receipts and invoices;
• Draft routine correspondence;
• Proofread first draft of legal documents and providing edits;
• Other administrative tasks, as assigned.

What You Bring
As the ideal candidate, you possess 3+ years' experience working in a fast-paced legal practice (experience in Franchise-Business Law considered an asset). You are versed in the entire MS Office Suite, a DMS, Legal Accounting Software. You have successfully obtained a legal administrative certification and/or law clerk designation through an accredited institution.
