Reporting to the Vice‑President of the Division, the Portfolio Director is responsible for developing a strategic approach to markets, clients, and associated projects to increase market share in a consistent and predictable manner. The role involves close collaboration with other groups within the organization for market development strategy, preparation of responses to tenders, and monitoring of project performance.
Responsibilities
Maintain a highly visible presence with Ontario key clients and other related portfolio clients in Canada.
Actively participate in strategy development and execution for the Canadian market to deliver year‑on‑year growth in both volume and profitability.
Oversee standing offer contracts (MSAs) and provide oversight of project delivery performance associated with the portfolio.
Lead the preparation of bids, develop and craft bid strategy, lead go/no‑go decisions, and validate the service offering.
Provide project delivery oversight and deliver quality projects within the portfolio: manage client interface, chair key internal meetings, validate change requests and contractual amendments, manage waivers and claims, manage risk and contingency.
Manage a portfolio of projects to deliver on overarching regional business goals (monthly, quarterly, annually) and maintain reasonable risk levels.
Facilitate resolution of client complaints.
Participate in monthly business unit market meetings (Canada).
Deliver maximum business efficiency while achieving growth goals.
Qualifications
Related experience in engineering, construction, operation, maintenance, and/or project management in the field of hydropower (10‑15+ years).
Completed and actively participated in large‑scale infrastructure projects.
Experience in market development.
Strategic vision.
Leadership, professionalism, integrity and excellent organizational skills.
Excellent ability to communicate, respond and interact with clients.
Political acumen and ability to work in a team environment.
Bachelor's degree in engineering is a strong asset.
