Interim VP Engineering / Head of Engineering (Contract)
We are supporting a product-led software business undergoing a period of technology and organisational modernisation, and are seeking an experienced Interim VP Engineering / Head of Engineering to lead this transition.
This is a senior leadership engagement, operating at executive level, with accountability for engineering strategy, delivery, and the performance of a sizeable product engineering organisation.
The Role- Lead and scale a product engineering organisation (circa 60–80 engineers)
- Drive modernisation initiatives across technology, architecture, and ways of working
- Own delivery of the product roadmap, partnering closely with senior product leadership
- Embed a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence
- Operate as a trusted leader within a global technology leadership team
- Balance engineering excellence with commercial outcomes (cost, productivity, growth)
- Proven experience in VP / Head / Director of Engineering roles within product-led software or SaaS environments
- Track record of leading large, modern engineering teams through transformation
- Strong technical credibility combined with business and stakeholder acumen
- Confident operating at exec and board-facing level
