Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Project Manager I

The Unity Health Centre for Global Collaboration in Acute Care Research was established in 2024 to catalyze and strengthen the international partnerships needed to advance acute care research. Arising out of activities that helped shape the international research response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Centre develops and coordinates programs that support greater national and international research collaboration. The Centre serves as the secretariat for the International Forum for Acute Care Trialists (InFACT;

a global network of investigator-led acute care clinical trials groups), as the organizing hub for REMAP-CAP in Canada (an international platform trial that evaluated treatments for severe COVID-19), and other global initiatives.

We are seeking a highly organized, adaptable, and relationship-driven Project Manager I to manage the Centre’s global projects. Reporting to the Centre’s Manager of Research Programs & Partnerships, the Project Manager I will lead small-scale projects and initiatives for the Centre and its global programs (e.g., InFACT, REMAP‑CAP) and provide support for larger projects. This role includes planning, implementing, and evaluating projects;

coordinating project teams; and ensuring quality standards are met.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that people in underrepresented communities are less likely to apply to jobs when they don’t meet every single qualification. We are dedicated to building an inclusive workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we still welcome you to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plans, develops, and coordinates all aspects of small‑scale projects for the Centre, including international projects and events.

  • Builds and maintains collaborative, respectful working relationships with diverse, multilingual, and multicultural stakeholders.
  • Supports financial planning, monitoring, and administration of project budgets within approved authority.
  • Represents the Centre on internal and external committees and project‑related initiatives, as appropriate.
  • Performs corporate, cross‑functional, and other duties as assigned and/or requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Must be working toward or actively pursuing Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • 1‑2 years of project management experience is required; experience in a health research or global organization is an asset.
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task while producing high quality work.
  • Demonstrated team player with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Experience using project management tools, reporting systems, and quality improvement processes.

This position is a 12‑month contract, with potential for renewal subject to future funding availability.
