About the Role

Waterfront Toronto is seeking a Vice President, Project Delivery to oversee the planning, management, and execution of assigned capital projects and programs across Waterfront Toronto. This includes leading project portfolios, delivery teams, and project control functions for large‑scale, complex, multi‑precinct, multidisciplinary initiatives – from early strategy and due diligence, through design (in collaboration with Waterfront Toronto’s Planning & Design Team), implementation, and closeout while ensuring compliance with all internal and external requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned project due diligence, planning, reporting, and day‑to‑day program delivery across development, design, and construction portfolios.
  • Direct and oversee design and construction program controls, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, sustainability objectives, and legal, health & safety, environmental, and ethical standards.
  • Support and enhance Project Management Office (PMO) and Operational Risk Management frameworks, including risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and performance reporting.
  • Establish and maintain standards for program scoping, feasibility, cost estimating, forecasting, financial controls, and performance measurement.
  • Provide leadership on delivery models and procurement activities, including RFP development and approvals, consultant selection, contract reviews, and engineering and construction evaluations.
  • Lead high‑priority, complex projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality outcomes, accurate executive reporting, and timely delivery.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, producing reliable forecasts, estimates, and financial reporting.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff in partnership with the SVP, Project Delivery, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
  • Build strong partnerships with consultants, contractors, and industry associations to support successful program delivery and strengthen organizational reputation.
  • Champion innovative delivery and management practices to drive continuous improvement and position the organization as a leader in project execution.
  • Oversee project controls for work delivered by external partners and Eligible Recipients, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and standards.
  • Contribute to the development and governance of corporate policies and procedures, providing operational expertise and strategic input to senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.), Bachelor of Architectural Technology (B.Arch. Tech), or comparable education.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in project delivery, engineering, development, design, or construction within complex, multi‑disciplinary environments.
  • Senior‑level experience leading large‑scale, multi‑precinct infrastructure and real estate development projects from due diligence through design and construction.
  • Proven experience working with senior public‑ and private‑sector stakeholders and managing multiple delivery models.
  • Demonstrated background in brownfield development, including environmental considerations, construction logistics, and health & safety.
