Confidential Opportunity – Controller (Construction & Real Estate Development)

We are partnering confidentially with a growing, privately held real estate development and construction organization seeking a hands‑on Controller to join their leadership team.

This is a newly created role within a rapidly evolving organization operating across land development, residential, and commercial construction projects. The business has experienced significant growth and is continuing to refine its financial infrastructure to support expansion and operational sophistication.

The Controller will oversee the full accounting function in a project-driven construction environment and work closely with executive leadership, including the VP of Real Estate and ownership.

This role requires a highly practical, detail-oriented financial leader with deep construction industry exposure and strong knowledge of the Construction Act, including CCDC2 and CCDC 5 contracts.

• Lead and manage full-cycle accounting operations
• Oversee project accounting, job costing, draws, and budgeting across multiple projects
• Ensure compliance with the Construction Act and CCDC contract frameworks
• Strengthen financial controls, reporting accuracy, and process discipline
• Partner closely with operations, project managers, and executive leadership
• Support continued refinement of systems and reporting structures
• Contribute to financial planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives

This role is hands‑on and requires someone comfortable building structure, implementing controls, and operating within a growing, entrepreneurial environment.

• Strong experience in construction, land development, or project-based accounting
• Direct exposure to CCDC2 and CCDC 5 contract structures
• Experience operating in a growing or evolving organization
• Broad exposure across accounting systems and financial processes
• Comfortable with executive interaction and cross-functional collaboration
