Position Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Marketplace Growth & Expansion Manager to join our Toronto-based team who will take full ownership of our marketplace growth strategy in the Canadian market and beyond. This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on executor who can define direction, drive measurable expansion, and be fully accountable for marketplace performance outcomes. The successful candidate will own growth KPIs, manage budgets responsibly, and lead scalable acquisition strategies that balance supply and demand across the platform.
This is not a support role — it is a leadership position with clear ownership of performance and expansion objectives

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Ownership
- Define and execute the marketplace expansion strategy.
- Identify and prioritize new market opportunities (geographic and vertical).
- Set clear quarterly and annual marketplace growth targets.
- Take full accountability for marketplace performance metrics.
Performance & Growth Execution
- Develop and scale acquisition campaigns across all marketplace channels.
- Optimize customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and conversion rates.
- Design and implement growth experiments to continuously improve performance.
- Drive marketplace liquidity and supply-demand balance.
Financial & KPI Accountability
- Own and manage the marketplace marketing budget.
- Track and report on GMV, acquisition cost, activation, retention, churn, and ROI.
- Provide clear, data-backed recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure campaigns are performance-driven and financially sustainable.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Sales, and Operations to align growth initiatives.
- Provide market insights to inform product improvements and feature prioritization.
- Collaborate with leadership to support long-term strategic objectives.
Go-to-Market Leadership
- Lead go-to-market strategies for marketplace launches and expansions.
- Define positioning, messaging, and channel strategies.
- Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform decisions.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading marketplace expansion initiatives.
- Demonstrated track record of scaling marketplace or platform growth.
- Strong understanding of supply-demand marketplace dynamics.
- Experience managing performance marketing budgets with clear ROI accountability.
- Advanced analytical skills and comfort working with performance data.
- Ability to translate strategy into execution.
- Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
