Senior Manager, Business Partner
The opportunity
Reporting to the Director/P&C Business Partner, this senior manager level P&C Business Partner position will have end to end accountability and advisory for appropriate level client groups within the division they support including, developing people insights, people plans, talent review and building strategic partnerships with business leaders.
This role is accountable for the identification and retention of HiPos and critical roles, supporting business strategy (inclusive of workforce planning, critical skill/capabilities and organization design) and will drive culture transformation, engagement and change across all client groups and has accountability for day to day leadership coaching
Who you'll will work with
You will partner closely with business clients (EMD and Senior Managing Director level leaders) as well as work with all P&C partners as the main representative for their client groups.
What you'll do
Primary responsibility is to be a strategic partner, advisor and confidant to senior executive investment client groups offering advice on planning/development, performance management, organizational changes, compensation, employee retention, employee engagement, organizational structure, talent review, workforce planning, communication and attracting and retaining talent. Minimal guidance required on day to day activities, consult Director PCBP as a sounding board.
Drive culture within respective client groups by ensuring a strong people strategy that is aligned to business strategy. You will provide advice on strategies and tactics to build and reinforce culture and values while monitoring culture metrics with business groups/leaders and discussing progress and potential actions. Work with Director PCBP to ensure alignment across investments to ensure cohesive plans.
Diagnose business issues and strategic goals, developing effective talent solutions and interventions that deliver against key priorities and partner with leaders to drive a high-performance culture with minimal or no guidance. Deep understanding of divisional talent and lead the delivery of talent review, partnering with talent team to deliver talent programs as required. Understand both high level business plans (within their purview) as well as detailed employee details, and bring forward unique business perspective and/or challenges to drive change.
Understand the market and strategic team objectives for their client groups and partner with the business to build a workforce plan that includes the organization shape and needs, required competencies, bolstered strengths, talent requirements and overall alignment to budgets and KPIs. Work alongside Director PCBP to ensure alignment and understand any division wide guidance.
Provide change management and organization design support for organizational changes and for projects that impact people roles, reporting structure, performance goals/standards and behaviours. May obtain assistance from change team and/or leader recommendations.
Partner with P&C regarding all P&C cyclical processes including Performance Management, Compensation, Talent Review, reporting for assigned client groups and ensure seamless delivery in respective client groups. Ensure seamless delivery of P&C programs across client groups.
Have accountability, manage and provide guidance on appropriate level employee relations and performance management issues within client groups.
Liaise with the Operations team to define business requirements on process and system enhancements in Workday for Division they support
Decision making
Consult and provide recommendations to senior business leaders in all areas of talent
Advise business leaders on areas for change, opportunities and making hard calls on talent
Evaluate talent and assess potential
Strong critical thinking skills and capabilities to leverage data and insights to inform talent strategies and decisions
Provide day to day coaching as applicable on various issues across respective client groups
Assess and manage appropriate level employee relations issues working in partnership with Director ER/LR

What you'll need
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related area of study required. CHRL designation preferred
Ability to think strategically, and a demonstrated track record of implementing scalable solutions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Passionate, self-motivated and inspiring in developing leaders
Demonstrated emotional intelligence to establish trust, maintain confidential information and foster a strong relationship with business leaders, partners and top talent
