About The Role
The Vice President, Sales – Employee Benefits & Retirement (EB&R) is a strategic revenue leader responsible for driving sustainable growth across the EB&R division. Reporting to the EVP, Employee Benefits, this role leads a team of Employee Benefits Producers focused on new business origination in the small-to-mid-market, while strengthening cross-divisional collaboration and elevating sales performance standards.
This is a builder role responsible for scaling revenue, enhancing sales discipline, shaping market strategy, and fostering a high-performance, compliant, and client-centric sales culture. The VP will play a key role in aligning regional growth objectives with HUB’s broader strategic ambitions.
What You’ll Do
Drive Revenue Growth: Develop and execute the EB&R sales strategy to achieve new business and profitability targets.
Lead & Coach Producers: Build, mentor, and hold accountable a high-performing team of EB&R Account Executives focused on origination.
Own Pipeline Discipline: Establish rigorous forecasting, pipeline management, and sales performance metrics.
Expand Market Presence: Identify priority segments and industry verticals to grow share in the 100+ employee market.
Enable Cross-Sell Success: Partner with P&C leadership to drive structured referral activity and integrated client solutions.
Elevate Sales Capability: Implement best-in-class sales processes, tools, and training to improve close ratios and productivity.
Ensure Compliance & Integrity: Champion regulatory adherence, licensing standards, and ethical selling practices.
Shape Strategic Direction: Collaborate with regional leadership on growth planning, talent strategy, and long-term EB&R positioning.
Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success
LLQP License required
7–10+ years of progressive experience in Employee Benefits & Retirement sales within the Canadian insurance market
3–5+ years of sales leadership or team management experience preferred
Deep knowledge of EB&R products, carrier landscape, underwriting practices, and market trends
Demonstrated track record of exceeding revenue targets and building scalable sales infrastructure
Strong financial acumen (understanding margins, commission structures, revenue forecasting)
Experience with CRM systems and structured sales methodologies
CEBS, GBA, or a related EB designation isconsidered an asset
