Description About UsThe Faculty of Arts & Science is at the heart of Canada’s leading university, with more than 35,000 undergraduate and graduate students. It is one of the most comprehensive and diverse academic divisions in the world, through its combined teaching and research excellence in the humanities, sciences and social sciences across 29 departments, seven colleges and 46 interdisciplinary centres, institutes and programs.
Our history shows that the shared commitment of the Faculty of Arts & Science and its supporters advance progress and deepen understanding on the issues that matter. The campaign fuels curiosity, innovation, and discovery—spanning explorations of diverse cultures and histories, ethical AI, quantum computing, climate change, democratic foundations, and developments in memory care. Across these priorities and more, we are raising support for student access and success, academic programs and teaching excellence, research and innovation, and the infrastructure and spaces that sustain them.
We can only achieve our mission through the dedication and excellence of our staff and faculty. Join the most ambitious university campaign in Canadian history.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Director of Development provides leadership in the development and implementation of current and deferred major gift fundraising programs for the Faculty of Arts and Science, including a strategic focus on securing donations of $100,000+ and above. The Director of Development’s portfolio and strategic emphasis will centre on the Munk School of Global Affairs Public Policy. The Munk School is a world‑leading, interdisciplinary hub for research, teaching, and public engagement dedicated to addressing major global challenges. It unifies those passionate about global affairs to research, discuss, and shape solutions for a fast‑changing world.
The incumbent identifies and cultivates prospective donors and solicits major gifts. The Director leads annual strategy setting and contributes insights into campaigns, typically project based, designed to secure significant philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
