This is a hands-on corporate role, requiring strong field presence and the ability to influence without direct authority, translating corporate expectations into practical, effective site execution within a fast-growing mining company.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain the Company’s Health & Safety Management System in alignment with legislation, corporate standards, and industry best practice.
Establish health and safety requirements, rules, and systems applicable to employees and contractors across all projects.
Define and implement critical risk management frameworks, life-saving rules, and control verification processes.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to site teams in the application of health and safety systems and standards.
Establish corporate frameworks for hazard identification, risk assessment, incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action.
Monitor health and safety performance across projects using leading and lagging indicators, identifying trends and systemic risks.
Lead or coordinate assurance activities, audits, and performance reviews to verify the effectiveness of health and safety systems.
Develop and oversee health and safety training frameworks, including inductions, refresher training, and role-specific competencies.
Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, regulations, and permit conditions.
Establish and maintain corporate health and safety reporting systems and provide clear reporting to senior leadership and for ESG disclosures.
Maintain a strong field presence, spending approximately 50% of time in the field, to support, mentor, and assess site teams.
Qualifications
10+ years of health and safety experience in the mining industry, including surface and underground environments.
Demonstrated experience building or implementing health and safety systems in development-stage or project environments.
Strong working knowledge of mining health and safety legislation and industry standards.
Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Experience in developing safety culture initiatives
