As an Area General Manager at United Rentals, you will be the leader of a major business enterprise while managing multiple locations in a metro market. You will have the opportunity to hire and motivate an amazing team across sales and service, build profitable locations with your business and management skills, ambition, and competitive spirit.
What You’ll Do- Lead multiple branch sales and operations activities, including fleet management.
- Ensure outstanding customer service, productivity, and profitability.
- Responsible for market share penetration.
- Hire, build, and motivate a great team, including performance management, training, development, and recognition.
- Provide P&L oversight of all branches within the metro market and prepare monthly operation reviews, yearly budgets and more.
- Monitor location and function performance using available tools.
- Develop a strong safety culture and oversee audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations, and drug and alcohol testing.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8-10 years of successful business management experience with oversight of multiple units, with profit and loss responsibility.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience and proven sales and customer service success.
- Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office.
- Effective leadership, motivational, organizational and communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, ability to present to all levels in the company.
- Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on negotiating, collaborating and conflict resolution.
- Strong analytical skills; metrics oriented.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
