You will be instrumental in aligning biosafety protocols with institutional regulations. Reporting to senior leadership, provide expertise in compliance plans while overseeing laboratory safety and training. Engage with multiple stakeholders to ensure safe research practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct the institution's biosafety and biosecurity programmes
• Serve as liaison to regulatory agencies for compliance matters
• Conduct assessments of hazardous materials handling and safety
• Facilitate training for staff on safety practices and regulations
• Manage work refusals concerning biological safety issues
Requirements:
• Master’s in microbiology or related discipline
• At least five years of relevant regulatory experience
• Thorough knowledge of biosafety standards and practices
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Possess valid driver’s licence for site visits
