Job Description

The Manager, HEOR will lead multi-disciplinary research teams and provide HEOR expertise and strategic leadership at all stages of projects from planning to communication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • PEOPLE LEADER

    People leaders must possess both the skills to effectively accomplish these tasks and the emotional intelligence to do so in alignment with our cultural values. In addition to the critical management and leadership tasks listed above, this role also includes the following unique responsibilities:

  • Assigns and reviews work, offers technical and professional guidance, and ensures adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Coaches junior staff on project execution and development of core skills. Participation in the Performance Improvement Plan process may be required to support performance within projects.
  • Works alongside reporting managers to provide input and feedback on junior team members’ performance during mid-year and year-end review cycles.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to coordinate project delivery, resources, and priorities.
  • Influences team outcomes through project planning and execution, rather than formal line management.
  • EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Travel: Some travel may be required for meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management
  • Hours
    :
    Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours (about 1 and a half days) per week. Overtime and/or weekend/evening hours may be required to meet project deadlines

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Education: MSc in a Life Science discipline, Epidemiology, Health Economics or related field
  • Experience and/or Training:A minimum of three (3) years’ direct work experience in health economics, health technology assessment, or a related field

    Strong basis in cost-effectiveness model design, analysis and interpretation.

    Experience with HTA submissions

    Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, demands, and timelines in a fast-paced environment

    Proven ability to manage personal and project team members’ time across competing projects

    Proven ability to identify and respond to different communication and work styles of team members and contractors

    Demonstrated leadership, teambuilding and team-motivating skills

    Demonstrated planning and decision-making skills

    Strong strategic, problem solving, and analytical abilities

    Proven relationship building capabilities; developing and maintaining strong client relationships, effectively interacting with peers

    Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills

    Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technology/Equipment:Experience in model programming in VBA preferred
