EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract

SALARY: $65,000

HOURS: 35 hours per week (Monday
- Friday)

START DATE: Immediately

END DATE: March 31, 2027

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

With 43 years of operations, Skills for Change is a highly respected non‑profit charity with a province‑wide reputation for pioneering programs that respond to shifting immigration and workplace trends and lead to employment. We offer a range of accelerated programs for newcomers to Canada, immigrants, refugees, women, youth, seniors, LGBTQ+ and Black Canadians. We have multiple locations across the GTA and serve 20,000 clients annually.

We believe we are in the best position to provide thought leadership through evidence‑based programming, impact stories, and proactive policy advocacy using knowledge mobilization products.

PROGRAM NATURE AND SCOPE

The Supervisor, Employment Services YESS (Youth Employment and Skills Strategy) is responsible for supervising a range of employment‑related programs and services designed to support clients in achieving employed outcomes. This includes the coordination and oversight of employer engagement activities, employment services and staff. Reporting to the Interim Manager, Employment Services, the Supervisor ensures the effective delivery and smooth operation of programs that serve underserved populations, including barriered youth and individuals furthest from the labour market.

With a strong focus on employment outcomes and sustained job retention, the Supervisor promotes equitable access to career and education pathways by overseeing skills development, employer partnerships, and tailored wraparound supports. Through a client‑centered approach, the Supervisor fosters meaningful employment opportunities across multiple sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Employer Engagement and Partnerships
  • Lead employer engagement strategies to build and maintain relationships across various industries, with a focus on developing talent pipelines that support employment and bridging programs
  • Identify and target employers aligned with client needs, converting leads into long‑term partnerships that facilitate job placements, mentorships, and career development
  • Stay informed on labour market trends and in‑demand skills to ensure programming is responsive to employer needs and evolving sector demands
  • Guide staff in promoting employer‑related services and financial incentives, supporting the delivery of job development activities and employer‑facing events such as job fairs and networking forums
  • Track and report on employer engagement activities to support evaluation, accountability, and program planning
