Account Director

As a Group Account Director at Dentsu Creative, you will play a pivotal role in leading the strategic execution of client initiatives—ensuring deliverables are met with excellence, on brief, on time, and within budget. You will serve as a trusted partner to clients, fostering strong, collaborative relationships and driving business growth through insight‑led, inclusive, and culturally aware solutions.

In this leadership position, you will guide account planning and management while mentoring, supporting, and empowering a diverse team of Account Directors and Supervisors. Your approach will model empathy, equity, and collaboration, ensuring all voices are valued and that the work reflects our shared values, client objectives, and commitment to representation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and delivery of innovative, strategic, and commercially impactful solutions that align client goals with agency values and principles of inclusivity.
  • Build and nurture collaborative, trust‑based client relationships, ensuring the team consistently delivers exceptional service and strategic value.
  • Translate the agency vision into actionable business plans that drive measurable results and reflect a commitment to equity, inclusion, and creative excellence.
  • Manage and grow senior‑level client partnerships, ensuring alignment with relationship strategy and commercial frameworks.
  • Provide inclusive, empathetic leadership to a high‑performing and integrated team—ensuring diverse perspectives are welcomed, supported, and leveraged to meet client and agency objectives.
  • Champion professional development through coaching, mentoring, and skill‑building initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning, belonging, and growth.
  • Conduct performance development reviews and create tailored growth plans for direct reports, offering clear, constructive, and ongoing feedback.
  • Establish clear objectives and KPIs, ensuring transparent tracking and consistent achievement across the team.
  • Identify and pursue responsible business development opportunities across existing and prospective clients, leveraging knowledge of Dentsu’s products and services to deliver ambitious, values‑driven solutions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a comparable role, including at least 3 years of people leadership.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic communications plans and deliver thoughtful, client‑centric recommendations.
  • Skilled in managing stakeholder expectations and building trust across diverse internal and external teams.
  • Experience supporting new business initiatives at the network or brand level.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating long‑term, sustainable client relationships.
  • Experience in Automotive sectors is considered a strong asset.

Vacancy:
Yes

Salary: CAD $130k-$145k. Actual salary within range based on experience, knowledge, and skills. Medical, dental, RRSP, paid time off, and other benefits are available to all permanent employees.
