SPECIFIC POSITION INFORMATION: The successful applicant will be required to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check.

For approximately 6 months.
35 hours per week. Evenings and Saturdays required.
Plus seven [7] variable hours.
- To administer the circulation function in an area branch and develop area staffing schedules.
Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, this position is responsible for:
Leadership Functions- developing schedules for the area
- solving daily staff resourcing level problems within and across the areas by redeploying staff
- directing staff including setting performance standards, providing verbal input to performance appraisals and participating in hiring pages
- the circulation function in the branch
- the service delivery in the absence of the designated supervisor
- participating in implementing training programs
- ensuring staff are aware of and comply with established policies, procedures and practices, including health and safety
- performing circulation functions including materials processing
- interpreting and implementing circulation policies
- communicating services, policies and procedures to customers
- providing information services
- conducting programs
- performing database maintenance functions
- performing various branch support duties such as: preparing daily timetables, typing documents, recording statistics
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus two (2) years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Understanding and appreciation of the philosophy of public service to all, in accordance with human rights legislation and the principles of equity and access in the delivery of library service
- Proven ability to lead and to supervise staff and to do work requiring independent judgement and initiative
- Knowledge of administrative methods and library procedures
- Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures
- Ability to develop schedules for multiple locations
