Job Description

The General Manager is accountable for the overall leadership, operational excellence, financial performance, and client satisfaction of a multi‑unit food service and hospitality program. This role provides strategic direction to deliver exceptional customer experiences, drive operational effectiveness, optimize financial results, and foster employee engagement while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery. As the primary leader of operations, the General Manager builds strong client and stakeholder relationships, develops high‑performing teams, and drives sustainable business growth.

Business and Government – Aramark

Job Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Lead a multi‑unit food service operation, including retail, catering, and executive dining services ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality service standards
  • Develop and execute operational plans that support customer satisfaction, client retention, and business growth
  • Drive implementation of company initiatives, operational programs, and service excellence standards
  • Continuously assess operations and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and profitability
  • Ensure all contractual obligations and scope of work (SOW) requirements are met
Financial Management
  • Maintain full accountability for the financial performance of the assigned portfolio
  • Develop annual business plans, operating budgets, forecasts, quarterly client business reviews, and monthly financial report summaries
  • Analyze operating results and implement corrective actions as required
  • Monitor and control food, labour, inventory, and operating expenses
  • Identify revenue opportunities and execute strategies that support year‑over‑year growth
Client and Customer Relations
  • Build and maintain strong client partnerships through proactive communication and strategic planning
  • Drive client satisfaction, contract retention, and overall service excellence
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, vendors, and business leaders
  • Leverage customer and employee feedback to support continuous operational improvement
People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop management and frontline teams
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, inclusion, engagement, and service excellence
  • Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top talent

Qualifications
  • University degree or college diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Food Service Management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, food service, or a related service industry
  • Proven experience leading multi‑unit operations with accountability for financial performance
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated success managing budgets, forecasting, and cost controls
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement capabilities
