Position Overview:
This role within the Product Marketing team is responsible for establishing the Uniqlo brand in Canada through communication of our brand values and iconic products. In this role, the individual must collaborate with Global Marketing at our Headquarters in Japan on marketing planning, creative development and local adaptation for specific product categories. They will also be accountable for the creation of the product specific Canada region marketing plan and localized execution.
The Marketing Manager will report to the Product Marketing Team Director. They will interface with various teams including Global Marketing, Merchandising, Visual Merchandisers, PR, E-Commerce, Digital Marketing and In-store Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute product marketing strategies and plans on an annual/seasonal basis
- Collaborate with Global Marketing to provide input on creative briefs for seasonal product campaign development
- Provide direction and guidance on product shoot list and in-store asset creation
- Lead product/project planning and execution in collaboration with other departments
- Establish understanding of Uniqlo Lifewear with breakthrough communication that elevates the brand and supports the key brand attributes through product marketing communication
- Ensure optimized product marketing communication for the US consumer for all product marketing materials
- Manage agency relationships and conduct briefings for marketing plan development and execution
- Plan and execute in-store and in-market product marketing events
- Conduct business analyses and post marketing campaign reviews
- Support the training and development of junior and new marketing team members
- Other related duties to be assigned by direct supervisor
Who you are:
- Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the marketing/product marketing and/or communications preferably within retail, fashion, apparel, consumer goods, or a fast-paced agency environment
- Managerial and leadership experience to lead a team
- Experience in working for product marketing/communications
- Proven ability to develop insightful marketing strategies and flawlessly execute integrated campaigns from concept to analysis
- A genuine interest in apparel, design, and innovation. Ability to translate product features into compelling consumer benefits
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to craft clear, persuasive, and on-brand narratives
- Deep empathy for the Canadian consumer and a data-driven approach to understand their needs and behaviors
