Position Overview

The Director, Leadership Giving is a new opportunity for a senior fundraising leader charged with building and scaling a nationally significant leadership giving program at one of Canada’s most trusted charities.

Reporting to the AVP/Senior Director, Philanthropy & Partnerships, this role leads the strategy, architecture, and relationships that drive sustainable growth in leadership and major gifts, stewarding donors who invest $5,000-$100,000+ in MODC’s mission.

The Director will own a portfolio of high-value prospects and donors, cultivate long-term, trust-based relationships, and secure annual and multi-year philanthropic commitments that advance MODC’s strategic priorities. They will develop personalized donor journeys, create compelling cases for support, and ensure that every donor experiences meaningful connection to our impact.

This role is foundational to the success of MODC’s emerging comprehensive campaign and broader philanthropic transformation. The Director will partner closely with program leaders, finance, marketing, and senior leadership to translate organizational priorities into clear, inspiring philanthropic opportunities. They will ensure donors receive exceptional stewardship through thoughtful engagement, tailored communications, and high-quality impact reporting.

Beyond portfolio management, the Director will play a key role in strengthening MODC’s culture of philanthropy by modeling donor-centered best practices, contributing to a coordinated fundraising strategy, and providing guidance that helps colleagues and senior volunteers engage effectively in the cultivation and solicitation process.

The Director, Leadership Giving operates as a strategic thinker, relationship builder, storyteller, and results-driven fundraiser—helping to accelerate MODC’s mission and deepen our community of supporters nationwide.
