Reporting to the Youth Engagement and Volunteer Manager, the Coordinator, Youth & Community Programs supports the delivery of Kids Help Phone’s youth, volunteer, and community engagement initiatives. The successful candidate will help strengthen our volunteer and youth ambassador programs by supporting recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and coordination across service areas.

Responsibilities
  • Support the full lifecycle of volunteers and youth ambassadors across service programs, including recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, recognition, and communications
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer and ambassador activities and engagement
  • Support the National Youth Council and facilitate youth engagement through focus groups, surveys, and other initiatives to gather insights and inform programs
  • Coordinate youth engagement requests, liaise with internal teams, and provide briefing information to youth ambassadors
  • Travel as required to schools, partners, and events across Canada
  • Develop and deliver presentations and attend networking or promotional events as needed
  • Support promotion of programs and initiatives to schools, communities, and digital audiences
  • Assist with outreach efforts to connect youth and volunteers with programs and engagement opportunities
  • Support the Counsellor in the Classroom (CITC) program, including managing session logistics, coordinating counsellors, communicating with educators, and updating training materials
  • Provide Peer‑to‑Peer moderator support when needed
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Programs team to improve processes and ensure a seamless, impactful experience for young people and community participants
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g., public health, social work, education, applied social sciences, communications, business)
  • Strong understanding of youth mental health and/or youth engagement
  • 1–2 years of experience in volunteer management, youth engagement, program coordination, health promotion, outreach, or partnerships coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop others
  • Experience implementing roadmaps and workplans to achieve program objectives
  • Proven ability to scale initiatives, track results, and communicate progress and outcomes effectively
  • Creative thinker with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization through presentations, media, or other external communications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and work in a flexible environment
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • French language proficiency
  • Experience in youth program development
  • Experience providing mentorship and managing risk with young people and youth volunteers
