REPORTS TO: Manager, Programs and Services

CONTRACT TYPE: Contract (8 weeks)

HOURS: 35 hours per week (Monday
- Friday, with occasional evening and/or weekend hours)

RATE: $ 17.60

END DATE: August 17, 2026

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

With 43 years of operations, Skills for Change is a highly respected non-profit charity with a province wide reputation for pioneering programs that respond to shifting immigration and workplace trends and lead to employment. We offer a range of accelerated programs including mentoring, employment, settlement, language training together with specialized programs for skilled trades, women, and youth. We have 5 locations across the GTA and serve 16,000 clients annually.

We believe we are in the best position to provide thought leadership through evidence-based programming, impact stories and proactive policy advocacy using knowledge mobilization products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support outreach efforts to recruit diverse youth, guest speakers and mentors;
  • Assist in developing educational content and materials related to sustainability and climate action.
  • Support workshops by co-presenting and leading activities to enhance engagement with participants; support the creation of bi-weekly newsletters; research, gather and disseminate relevant resources for youth participants; support community events

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicants must have reached the age of 15 and not yet reached the age of 30 upon commencement of employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  • International students, and those who are here in Canada on a work, youth, or visitor visa/permit are not eligible for the program
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Ability to secure a police Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory and must be provided prior to starting employment.
