Become a key part of CNIB's Vision Mate Program as a Community Service Worker, serving the Greater Toronto Area. This hybrid role focuses on connecting volunteers with individuals who are blind or partially sighted using strong communication skills.
As a Community Service Worker, you'll engage with volunteers, support assessments, and maintain essential program records.
Your role requires creativity and organization to foster inclusivity and effective communication among program participants. You will be actively involved in volunteer onboarding and will ensure high standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with coordination and evaluation of program activities
• Conduct interviews and background checks for volunteers
• Maintain participant and volunteer information accurately
• Deliver effective support and communication to participants
• Travel throughout the GTA for program activities
Requirements:
• Trustworthy and patient with strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and communication capabilities
• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Post-secondary education in social services preferred
• Willingness to travel independently in the GTA
