Youth and Community Development Coordinator

Shape the future of Indigenous ministries as a Community Capacity Development Coordinator at The United Church of Canada in Toronto. This full-time position prioritizes engagement with youth and community development initiatives.

You will lead efforts in fostering sustainable ministry within Indigenous communities. The role involves supporting youth leadership development, managing administrative functions, and coordinating culturally relevant educational workshops. Your collaborative approach will strengthen partnerships and contribute to the church’s reconciliation goals following the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate sustainable ministry and outreach in Indigenous communities

• Oversee administrative coordination for development projects

• Implement culturally relevant training and workshops

• Research and create supporting materials reflecting Indigenous values

• Partner with Indigenous leaders for community capacity building

Requirements:

• Education in Indigenous studies, ministry, or community development

• 3-5 years experience in relevant fields

• Awareness of Indigenous history and church policies

• Proficient communication and planning skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
