Join Food Share Toronto as a Community Compost Coordinator, focused on leading composting operations and fostering community education in Toronto.
This role offers a hands-on approach to sustainable gardening.
As the coordinator, you will manage daily composting systems while conducting outreach and facilitating workshops that promote composting and soil health. You'll have the opportunity to engage with over 60 community sites, thereby enhancing local environmental practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee community compost systems
• Train students and community members on compost practices
• Increase system participation through outreach initiatives
• Lead workshops on composting and environmental topics
• Support the Toronto Compost Leaders program
Requirements:
• 2+ years working with compost and vermiculture
• Experience in organic gardening practices
• Strong skills in facilitating educational workshops
• Familiarity with power tools
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
