Health Equity Community Ambassador

Drive health equity initiatives as a Community Ambassador with Carefirst in Toronto, ON. This role emphasizes culturally relevant outreach to enhance community health access.

Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association seeks a Community Ambassador to support its vital Black Health Initiative within the Community Health Team. This part-time, temporary position focuses on engaging Black communities through education on preventive health and navigating local health resources. The ambassador will leverage community insights to improve service access and health understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with diverse teams on health promotion

• Deliver educational outreach presentations in communities

• Support community engagement in health planning

• Connect people with appropriate health services

• Engage in committees for collaborative health efforts

Requirements:

• Education in health promotion or social services is desirable

• Previous outreach experience is a plus

• Valid Ontario Driver’s license and vehicle needed

• In-depth knowledge of equity-based health approaches

• Fluency in relevant languages preferred

Contribute to fostering health equity and enhancing preventive care access in the community as a Community Ambassador at Carefirst.
