Join CHFT as a Co-op Advisor in Toronto, focusing on governance support and community stabilization within housing co-ops. Work in a blend of remote and in-office settings to make a difference.
This role involves engaging with co-op boards and members to provide essential support on governance and management issues. You will lead community workshops, attend crucial meetings, and provide specialized assistance to co-ops in need. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and be adept in both written and verbal communication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to inquiries from boards, staff, and co-op members
• Chair and participate in board and committee meetings
• Offer support to distressed co-ops for community stabilization
• Develop and implement workshops for various stakeholders
• Regularly meet with funding and regulatory entities
Requirements:
• Background in governance support or community development
• Minimum of seven years of relevant experience recommended
• Strong proficiency in Office 365 applications
• Effective communication skills required
• Preference for candidates experienced in non-profit housing settings
