Lead Advocate

Position: Lead Employment Advocate
Elevate employment advocacy efforts with CNIB in Toronto as a Lead Employment Advocate. Spearhead initiatives to promote inclusive hiring practices while engaging with local businesses and communities.

The Lead Employment Advocate position focuses on fostering employer partnerships and supporting the hiring initiatives for individuals who are blind, partially sighted, or Deafblind. Collaborate regionally to build warm leads and champion the cause of accessibility within the employment landscape. Your responsibilities include orchestrating advocacy activities, training volunteers, and maintaining essential community relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead advocacy for inclusive hiring across Ontario

• Recruit and train community engagement volunteers

• Develop relationships with businesses and partners

• Assist in transitioning warm leads into engagement activities

• Promote awareness of accessibility and inclusion

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of employment advocacy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools

• Experience with employer engagement or community outreach

• Knowledge of GTA business community is a plus
