Become a Community Organizer with ACORN in Toronto, dedicated to empowering low-to-moderate income communities. Engage in outreach, strategic research, and campaign planning to drive impactful change.
ACORN is seeking a passionate Community Organizer to join its Toronto team. This full-time role focuses on building community power through organizing methods, training in event planning, and effective communication. You'll work closely with members to expand grassroots initiatives and advocate for social justice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and expand local groups in communities
• Collaborate with existing members to cultivate new leaders
• Learn ACORN’s organizing methods with experienced leaders
• Engage in fundraising activities with members
• Represent ACORN at community events and external meetings
Requirements:
• No paid experience needed; training provided
• Strong social and interpersonal skills
• Self-driven with the ability to work independently
• Ability to listen and identify community issues
• Willingness to travel for training meetings
