Humber Boulevard Baptist Church was founded in 1920 and has an active congregation for over 100 years. Located near Black Creek Drive and Weston Road, the church has seen our neighbourhood change but our fervour for the Lord remains unchanged.

Qualifications & Education Requirements

Sociable and approachable

Firmly rooted in Scripture and allows the Holy Spirit to speak

Strong understanding of Scripture and Christian living

Personal relationship with Jesus Christ

Able to lead a service for one hour and fifteen minutes

Dynamic speaker

Worship leader

Bi‑vocational preferred

Accredited or pursuing accreditation with Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ)

Completion of a vulnerable sector check required

Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a bi‑vocational Pastor committed to leading and growing the church congregation. The incumbent will preach on Sunday mornings, lead a weekly Bible study, and cultivate fellowship within the congregation.

Preaching and Teaching

Deliver sermons and messages rooted in Scripture and relevant to the congregation in a dynamic way.

Understand and uphold Baptist values as outlined in the Church Constitution.

Provide teaching and guidance through weekly Bible study, support the Women’s Ministry, and plan for church growth.

Counselling skills preferred.

Worship

Lead the congregation through singing; proficiency in playing an instrument or managing AV systems is preferred.

Communicate song choices in advance of Sunday service to a designated church member.

Responsible for the entire order of service, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes each Sunday.

Pastoral Care

Approachable and willing to counsel members as needed.

Attend to congregation needs, including visiting the sick.

Leadership and Administration

Uphold the Church Constitution in all dealings.

Spiritually lead the congregation and officers according to the Lord’s direction.

Outreach, Evangelism & Growth

Develop a long‑term growth plan for the church.

Prioritize attracting new members and building community connections.
