Toronto, ON, CA
6 days ago Requisition
Salary Range: US $19.00 To US $20.00 Hourly
$19/hr to start + bonuses | $20/hr after evaluation | 32-40 hours/week | Greater Toronto Area
We're hiring outgoing, motivated people to join our GTA face-to-face fundraising teams , with current hiring focused primarily on our mall teams .
You'll represent nonprofit and charitable organizations working on important issues such as children's health, mental health, healthcare, and community wellbeing . You'll learn about the campaign you're representing, talk with members of the public about the work being done, and inspire people to get involved by becoming monthly donors.
Our teams fundraise in different settings across the GTA, and depending on campaign and staffing needs, you may also be placed with or scheduled to support one of our street or door-to-door fundraising teams .
If you're social, energetic, comfortable approaching new people, and looking for meaningful work, you might be a great fit.
What face-to-face fundraising across the GTA looks likeOur mall teams fundraise at shopping centres throughout the GTA, including locations such as:
- Hillcrest Mall
- Pickering Town Centre
While we're primarily recruiting for our mall teams right now, flexibility is an important part of the role . Campaigns, fundraising locations, and team needs can change, so you may occasionally work with one of our street or door-to-door teams elsewhere in the GTA.
Our teams fundraise at different locations throughout the GTA. Teams carpool when possible , and we'll do our best to coordinate transportation where it makes sense. However, carpooling can't always be guaranteed, so you'll still need to have a reliable way to get to your assigned location.
Wherever you're fundraising, this is an active, public-facing role. You'll spend most of your shift on your feet, approaching people, starting conversations, and fundraising face-to-face.
One more thing we want to be upfront aboutThis is a goal-oriented fundraising job.
You'll speak with lots of people each day to inspire them to become monthly donors for the nonprofit you're representing.
You'll get paid training, ongoing coaching, and plenty of support from your team, but fundraising can be challenging. You'll hear "no" a lot, and not every conversation turns into a donation.
Your performance will be regularly coached and evaluated based on your ability to engage the public and successfully sign up new donors.
If you're resilient, motivated by clear goals, open to feedback, and get satisfaction from improving your results, you'll love the challenge.
We think work is better when you can actually be yourself. Our team includes members of the LGBTQ+ community , and creating a space where people feel safe, respected, supported, and welcome is genuinely important to us.
You don't need fundraising experience - we'll teach you that. We're looking for people who bring energy, resilience, and curiosity, and who are comfortable being coached and working toward measurable goals.
You might be a great fit if you:
- Are naturally social and comfortable starting conversations with strangers
- Enjoy working in busy, public environments
- Are motivated by goals and like seeing yourself improve
- Can stay positive and keep going after hearing "no"
- Are comfortable receiving regular feedback and coaching
- Enjoy getting people excited about taking action
- Are reliable and looking for a consistent schedule of at least 32 hours per week
- Are available to work at least one weekend day
- Are comfortable being on your feet for most of your shift
- Can reliably travel to different fundraising locations throughout the GTA
- Are flexible about working in malls, on the street, or door-to-door depending on team needs
- Care about causes related to children's health, mental health, healthcare, and stronger communities
- Want to build your communication, confidence, and leadership skills
You don't need to check every box or come with fundraising experience. If you're someone who likes people, cares about making a difference, can handle hearing "no," and is motivated to improve with coaching, we'd love to hear from you.
This could be a great fit if you're a canvasser, community organizer, recent graduate, hospitality or customer service professional, salesperson, volunteer, performer, or someone looking to break into the nonprofit world.
Why join our team? You'll get to:
- Advocate for important causes related to children's health, mental health, healthcare, and community wellbeing
- Help nonprofit…
