Job Description Server | aKin Toronto Company Description aKin is a Michelin starred fine dining restaurant in the heart of Toronto, led by Chef Eric Chong, the first winner of Master Chef Canada and recipient of the Michelin Guide Toronto 2025 Young Chef Award, alongside his mentor and partner, three Michelin starred Chef Alvin Leung.
Since opening in November 2024, aKin has earned one Michelin Star, been named one of Air Canada's en Route Best New Restaurants 2025, and placed 27th on Canada's 100 Best Restaurants list.
aKin offers a 10 course blind tasting menu that reimagines Asian flavours through a modern fine dining lens. The menu draws inspiration from Chinese, Malaysian, Singaporean, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Hong Kong culinary traditions, combining classic techniques, modern applications, premium ingredients, thoughtful beverage pairings, and highly detailed service.

Job Description aKin is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly professional Server to join our front of house team.
We believe exceptional fine dining service extends far beyond delivering food and beverages. It is about anticipating needs, reading the table, creating meaningful connections, and ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout their experience.
As a Server at aKin, you will play an integral role in guiding guests through our tasting menu, confidently presenting dishes, recommending wines and beverages, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in fine dining service, extensive food and wine knowledge, and the ability to deliver polished, knowledgeable, and personable hospitality without appearing overly formal or scripted.
We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their craft, remains composed under pressure, and understands how thoughtful attention to the smallest details can transform a great meal into an unforgettable experience.
Responsibilities Deliver exceptional, personalized service throughout our multi course tasting menu
Confidently present and explain dishes, including ingredients, preparation techniques, culinary influences, and the stories behind each course
Demonstrate strong knowledge of wines, spirits, sake, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages
Guide guests through wine pairings and beverage selections based on their preferences and the menu
Execute professional wine service, including bottle presentation, opening, decanting, pouring, and appropriate glassware selection
Maintain thorough knowledge of the tasting menu, beverage offerings, dietary considerations, and restaurant service standards
Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, seamless service without being intrusive
Work closely with the kitchen, management, and fellow service staff to ensure a smooth and synchronized dining experience
Maintain precise pacing, timing, and attention to detail throughout service
Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
Assist with table maintenance, clearing, resetting, polishing, and other service duties as required
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the dining room and service areas
Actively participate in pre service briefings, menu tastings, wine education, and ongoing training
Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative team environment
