Role and Responsibilities
We are currently looking for a talented Sales Manager (IC) focused on growing revenue and building new relationships with assigned agencies and advertisers. The ideal candidate should have a passion for streaming video, expertise in data‑driven audience activation, and a pulse on new multi‑channel advertising technologies. With the rapid growth of programmatic activation in Connected TV, this seller should be a programmatic expert, equally comfortable speaking in terms like PG, PMP, and SSP as they are with insertion orders.
This individual must be able to think strategically, anticipate how buying decisions are made, uncover the business needs of key clients, and have a proven ability to close deals. Additionally, this Sales Manager will be a consummate team‑player and have the ability to work collaboratively across the sales organization within a fluid and fast‑paced environment. The position carries an annual revenue goal and a core focus on new business development.
The role is based in downtown Toronto with domestic CA travel as needed. You will report to the Country Manager, Canada.
- Develop high‑level relationships with customers and serve as a trusted consultant to optimize their advertising growth.
- Create mid‑term and long‑term territory plans to grow the advertising business both on and off the Smart TV platform.
- Work with agencies and brands to integrate the Smart TV platform into their media mix.
- Be the voice of the customer and communicate market trends and industry shifts, including implications to our product teams.
- Act as an internal champion for the proposed Smart TV advertising strategy across other key Samsung stakeholders.
- Understand Samsung’s TV data, products and measurement tools to help build relevant advertising solutions for advertisers.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in new business development across traditional TV and digital media advertising, including CTV, OLV and data activation.
- Experience selling data and complex deals.
- Experience working directly with client and agency partners.
- Strong understanding of the advertising ecosystem and evolving Smart TV marketplace.
- Proven track record of high‑level negotiation and relationship building within the advertising industry.
- Demonstrated success managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to present to agencies and advertisers both virtually and in‑person.
- Experience working in both entrepreneurial and established corporate environments.
- Proven ability to consistently close business and drive revenue growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and consistent follow‑through.
OTE for this role is expected to be between $225,000 and $250,000. Actual pay will be determined based on relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
