Membership Sales Representative
Temporary Part-time (Up to 24 hours per week; must be available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays. Saturday and Sunday full availability required. Must be available the first Wednesday of the month from 5:30pm – 9:00pm and one other full availability Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.)

We are currently seeking a Temporary Part‑time Membership Sales Representative to join our Visitor Services team. Under the direction of the Associate Director, Visitor Welcome, the incumbent will provide customer service for all levels of membership and promote Membership benefits, sales, and upgrades to new, renewing, and lapsed Members. They will process all methods of payments in an accurate and efficient manner – membership applications, donations, and renewals.
The Membership Sales Representative works collaboratively with other Front of House staff to achieve or exceed on‑site conversion rates. As required, they will assist with the ongoing on‑site, telemarketing, direct mail and email renewal and acquisition programs. They will provide back up support to back‑of‑house membership activities as required.
Rate of pay: $25.68 - $32.10 per hour.
What is this position responsible for?- Solicits membership renewals, upgrades and donations, when servicing Members at the Membership Services Desk in Granovsky Gluskin Hall, Members’ Kiosks, or another Satellite Membership Desk Work Station. Accurately completes opening and closing procedures. Works with all Front of House staff and volunteers to promote, sell and close Membership transactions. Responds to inquiries from members in person and processes payments. Ensures proper coding and data entry on all Membership sales for reporting accuracy.
- Greets Members and visitors to the Gallery; promote membership sales; works line‑ups and provides detailed information, regarding permanent collection displays, special exhibitions, educational programming, events, hours of operation, admission policies, and ticketing procedures and pricing structure in the admissions program, as well as responding to all Member or visitor queries. As required, enters requested admission information into a computer and issues appropriate tickets in Granovsky Gluskin Hall (GG Hall)/Front of House (FOH).
- Maintains accuracy of membership database; inputs and updates new membership applications, address changes and proofing of duplicate accounts; verifies database reports, investigates errors and discrepancies and takes corrective action.
- Minimum three years experience with membership sales and customer service
- Well developed knowledge of membership practices
- Well developed sales ability and initiative
- Understanding of and commitment to superior client servicing
- Well‑developed computer proficiency, data entry and keyboarding skills and directly related experience of applicable computer programs such as Tessitura or other fundraising software in order to enter, change/update customer information. Knowledge with POS, Windows, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Three years demonstrated cash handling, credit cards, balancing making change/ creating deposits
